A Special Place is proud to announce that Jamela Hodgson, owner of A Special Place, was featured on the “Good For Her” segment of Fox 8 News. Reporter Natalie Wilson interviewed Jamela and office manager Charlotte Freeman, regarding the expansion of the Greensboro boutique and the addition of a new salon.
Grand Opening
Fox 8 News joined us on Friday of our Grand Opening week, celebrating our move to 3606 Elm St in Greensboro, NC. Along with friends, family, colleagues and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, the news team covered our ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Good For Her
Fox 8 “Good For Her” New segment features women in the Piedmont Triad who are making a difference in their community.
Earlier that day, Jamela gave Natalie Wilson a tour of A Special Place and explained the impact of the service we provide to women in our community.
Wilson questioned Jamela about the importance of making sure women feel comfortable and secure about the choice to wear hair. Hair loss affects millions of women in the US, and can negatively impact their self-esteem, confidence and quality of life. The goal of A Special Place is to transform self-consciousness into self-confidence. Before they can do that, often women must overcome trepidation about wigs and hairpieces. Jamela explained that, just like clothing, jewelry and makeup, wearing hair is just a way to enhance our appearance and boost our self-esteem.
Next, Natalie interviewed Charlotte Freeman. Charlotte is more than just our office manager – as our very own “Wig Queen“, Charlotte explained how wigs have helped her cope with her own hair loss journey.
