Hair Now Comes to Nashville
A highlight of our year is attending the American Hair Loss Council (AHLC) “Hair Now!” Conference. This year the hair loss conference was held in Nashville, TN. Yee Haw!
Owner, Jamela Hodgson, and stylist, Jessica Lawrence, attended the 3 day event as well as an educational class the day before hosted by CRLabs. Jamela was also a featured instructor this year.
The American Hair Loss Council
The American Hair Loss Council is the largest non-profit hair replacement specialist trade group in the world. Hair replacement experts, including wig specialists, trichologists, non-surgical hair replacement specialists and extension stylists come together with the top hair vendors to learn about the latest products, techniques and trends in the world of hair replacement.
An Amazing Setting!
The conference was held in the fabulous Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennesse. In addition to the conference rooms, the hotel features 2 amazing atriums, filled with waterfalls, fountains, tropical flora surrounding amazing restaurants and shops. And, of course, we enjoyed live country music!
Education and Educating!
On Sunday afternoon, Jamela Hodgson presented to a group of peers from all over the country. Her topic was Navigating Insurance for Cranial Prostheses. As a certified Insurance and Coding expert, she taught other hair replacement specialist on how to help their customers file for health insurance benefits for their wigs.
Amani Hair
A highlight for us this year was meeting with the president of Amani Hair, Nazy Curtis and her staff. We enjoyed a lovely dinner with Nazy and her staff along with several other attendees. This one-on-one meeting afforded us the opportunity to learn about their amazing wigs and hairpieces from the founder herself.
