Our Trip to the AHLC Hair Now! Annual Conference – Fort Lauderdale 2025
This past weekend, Anna and I had the amazing opportunity to attend the American Hair Loss Council (AHLC) Hair Now! Annual Conference, held September 5–8 at the Westin in beautiful Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It was three incredible days filled with education, inspiration, and connection with some of the top professionals in the hair loss and replacement industry.
From the moment we arrived, we knew this conference was going to be special. The AHLC brought together experts, innovators, and passionate professionals from across the country, all focused on one mission: finding the best solutions for those experiencing hair loss.
Day One – Custom Hairpiece Seminar
We kicked off the conference with a half-day seminar presented by American Hairlines on making custom hairpieces. It was a fantastic deep dive into design, fitting, and customization—knowledge that will be incredibly valuable for our clients at A Special Place.
Education & Classes
The schedule was packed with workshops covering the latest advancements in hair replacement and scalp health. A highlight for us was learning about Hair Smart, a line of trichology products that blend traditional Indian Ayurveda healing principles with modern science to regrow and strengthen hair.
We also learned about Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT), an exciting technology that stimulates follicles and supports hair growth in a non-invasive way. Staying at the forefront of these emerging therapies is one of the best parts of attending AHLC events.
Vendors & Innovation
The vendor exhibits were just as inspiring. We had the chance to meet with leading companies like Follea by Daniel Alain, Milano Wigs, Bosley, Hairuwear, Jon Renau, Estetica Designs, On Stage Extensions, Dimples, CR Labs, New Image, and Capillus. Each one showcased products and technologies that are shaping the future of hair replacement and restoration.
Networking with Industry Pros
The energy at the conference was incredible! Being surrounded by so many talented professionals reminded us how collaborative and passionate our industry truly is. We connected with colleagues, mentors, and new friends who share our dedication to helping people feel confident and whole again.
Bringing It All Home
We’re returning from Fort Lauderdale energized and inspired, with new products, fresh techniques, and cutting-edge technology that we’re excited to bring back to A Special Place. Most importantly, we’re reminded that what we do is bigger than hair—it’s about restoring hope, confidence, and a sense of self for every person who walks through our doors.
